I've spent a few days with @rothys latest silhouette, The Mary Jane, and I have a detailed review below that I hope answers all your questions.
These are by far the most comfortable pair of Rothys I've tried to date, and I've tried them all! The insoles are thicker and have more cushion than their classic point style. The vamp is rounded vs. The traditional V shape of the classic point as well. These small changes make for a much more comfortable shoe. Not to say the classic points aren't comfortable but these just feel like wearing really stylish socks!
The bow stays tied all day. I haven't had any issues with it coming untied while walking. I will say, I thought I knew how to tie a bow (how hard could it be!) But I found a helpful video online and have a tutorial posted in my highlight MJ section here if you need help.
Sizing is like my other rothy points, I go a full size up from my street size. I found the solid black pair ran about .25 smaller than the wildcats and the sapphire were in between. It was fine for me because most of my 9.5s are a little big on me. Wildcat were definitely the biggest but I think if I sized down they may have been borderline too small. I prefer a little wiggle room!
I'm not the biggest fan of the vegan leather soles. I miss the traction of the classic carbon free rubber soles. Also, the leather like apearance wears off quickly leaving behind bald patches on the sole. It doesn't seem to effect the durability of the soles and is strictly cosmetic, but I still hate how "worn" it makes them look.
Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised how much I love these! I'm not the biggest girlie girl and thought I'd hate the bows, but I'm actually head over heels in LOVE with them! 🎀🥿 If you want to try a pair and save $20 off your pair, click the link in my bio! 💰 Be sure to checkout my highlights for outfit inspo as well.
