The main nutrients in our diet that give us energy are: carbohydrate, protein, and fat. When your body digests carbohydrate, it breaks it down into glucose, which is then absorbed into the bloodstream. Foods that contain a lot of carbohydrates can spike your blood sugar levels. Carbohydrates are found in many different kinds of food, include bread, breakfast cereals, vegetables, rice, pasta, fruit, milk, yoghurt and grains just to name a few. Giving up carbs completely isn’t realistic, healthy, or even necessary. What matters is that you’re aware of your carb intake and making nutritious food choices. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all plan and different foods effect everyone differently. ⁣ 𝐓𝐎𝐏 𝟑 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐲𝐦 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞⁣ ⁣ If your gyms have re opened or are about to, chances are you’re super excited to go HAM and pick up right where you left off. But maybe you’re confused as to HOW exactly to get back at it. ⁣ ⁣ Here are my top three tips for getting back into the gym after a hiatus⁣ ⁣ 𝟏- 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫 🐅 ⁣ ⁣ If you haven’t been lifting as much in the last couple months it’s not a good idea to go balls to the wall and start doing 36 sets of shoulder exercises. Going too hard too fast will make you more injury prone. Use slightly less weight then you would and start with a less frequent and more general split; a few total body strength training days or an upper body / lower body split for a few weeks until you get back into it. ⁣ ⁣ 𝟐- 𝐁𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 ⏰ ⁣ ⁣ You might not be as strong as you left off, or able to do as much total reps/ sets, but the good thing is you have muscle memory and will get back to it quickly. ⁣ ⁣ 𝟑- 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐤 🥛 ⁣ ⁣ It’s absolutely OK if your gym sessions feel off, you feel week and small, or you just feel like you’ve backtracked and don’t even feel like going. Well you aren’t alone so don’t dwell on it. Consistency will help you build momentum and get the ball rolling again and you’ll be back to Gainnnzzzville ⁣ ⁣ Today marked my 7th day back at the gym and even I’m struggling to rebuild momentum.... and I LOVE the gym ⁣ ⁣ So give yourself a break and don’t discredit all the reps you’ve put in on your fitness journey. ⁣ ⁣ Remember it’s just that; 𝐚 𝐉𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐘. MILK BREAD 3 WAYS | Recently I purchased some Cinnamon Rolls from local IG bakeshop @ble_etc, and they gifted me a loaf of their Soft Hokkaido Milk Bread. So I went all out! We’ve got a slice to soak up the gravy and hot honey from my fried chicken leftovers, a couple slices used to make a 5-spice duck salad sandwich (also leftovers), and a couple of egg-in-the-holes for good measure! Super fun SBD day today for @alec.bugler 's bday rip. Went a touch off program with some singles with the homie. Big 40lb conventional PR AND basically matched my third attempt from @hybridperformancemethodgym Showdown at like RPE 7. . Came across @birthdayeverydaynz in Takapuna and it’s honestly one of the sweetest and cutest gems that I’ve visited! We got the (dark) chocolate 🍫 mousse cake and the #cheesecake 🍰 in the shape of a 🐭 (because who else loves #cheese 🧀)?! The #desserts were BEAUTIFULLY presented and tasted exquisite and sophisticated 👌💥 The #mousse cake was a highlight because it was dense, creamy but also incredibly smooth at thee same time!
